Wildlife officials have closed wolf hunting and trapping on Douglas island after three wolves were killed by harvesters. The closure will be in place through august 1.
Reports of People catching sightings of wolves only started in 2012. In 2002, wolf hunting and trapping was also banned on the island.
Board members agreed to protect the wolves, as long as the island’s deer population remained stable.
