AZ: AZGFD responds to wolf-human conflicts

The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is statutorily mandated to manage all wildlife in the State of Arizona. This includes managing human/wildlife conflicts.

The AZGFD has been documenting reports and responding to wolf sightings in Nutrioso as well as reports of elk believed to have been killed by wolves during the months of March and April. The AZGFD takes public safety very seriously and responds to all reports of wildlife posing a threat to the public. The AZGFD has established a critical incident response team, staffed by wildlife professionals trained in responding to, investigating and resolving incidents involving wildlife that pose a known threat to humans or have attacked a human.

Any nuisance wolf interactions or wolf interactions that are an immediate or potential threat to humans should immediately be reported to the AZGFD 24-hr dispatch at (623) 236-7201. To report wolf sightings or for more information on wolves and wolf management call the AZGFD wolf office at (928) 532-2391.
