What is Wolf Hollow
The North American Wolf Foundation, "WOLF HOLLOW", was founded in 1988 by
Paul C. Soffron. The mission of the organization is to preserve the wolf in
the wild through educational programs offered to the public.
Wolf Hollow is the only facility of it's kind in the East. Visitors go to an
outdoor observation area and observe the pack of 17 Timber wolves while they
listen to a one hour lecture. The Director goes into the enclosure with the
wolves to demonstrate wolf human interaction.
"The North American Wolf Foundation is a non-profit educational facility committed to the preservation of the Gray Wolf. It is dedicated to teaching and providing an opportuinty to experience the wolf in as natural a setting as possible. It is hoped that people will realize, before our society silences the wolf's howl forever, that we have a debt to pay to the living ancestors of "man's best friend."
"The North American Wolf Foundation is committed to teaching people that the wolf can co-exist with man and mammals, in areas where it is part of the solution in a natural harmony, and not a problem for man's commercial enterprises."
"The Foundation hopes that once you witness directly these magnificent creatures and understand their role and value in our world, that you will make your voice heard loud in protest against those who continue, through egotism and ignorance, to destroy the wolf forever."
"Wolf Hollow is inspiring and educational for all ages. It reflects the dedication of the Soffrons to change our opinions about the wolf through information and direct experience. Wolf Hollow is making a significant contribution to the preservation of the magnificent wolf in America. Don't miss this opportunity to witness these beautiful creatures."
Visiting Opportunities
Saturdays and Sundays we are open to the public weather permitting. Hour-long structured presentations are given at 1:30 on the weekends. The gift shop is open from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
Weather permitting means that if it is raining we are closed. During the summer months the hazy, hot and humid weather of coastal New England is also a cause for concern- only the 1:30 PM presentation will be given on muggy weekend days.
Week days are reserved for groups of twenty or more by appointment only.
