Question: I once joined a wolf pack newsletter, and one day I read the letter, and it said that the alpha male had died. It also said that he had died because some of the other males had overthrown him and drove him out. So my question is, why do wolves do this? And also do they commonly do this?

Question: I have studied wolves and canine for many years. I recently found a question that I had no facts on just conclusions based on my studies. I would like your take on the subject. If an Alpha Male no longer produces pups, would that animal be driven out by the pack. Like wise if the Alpha female became barren would she to be driven out. It is my belief that both would be and they would be replaced. Thank you.
