MN: Wildlife Center to host wolf camp for kids

The Wildlife Science Center, 5463 W. Broadway Ave., Columbus, will host a series of wolf camps Aug. 3 to 7.

A three-day two night ecology camp at the Wildlife Science Center will allow campers to learn hands-on techniques used by biologists to study the local environment and the diversity of predator-prey relationships. This Monday through Wednesday camp experience teaches radio telemetry, tracking techniques, archery skills, animal and plant identification, hands-on science, data collection, and more. The cost is $250 and parents will drop off on Monday at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Wolf day campers will participate in an outdoor experience where wolves, black bears, coyotes, foxes, skunks, lynx and raptors become the teachers. Each five day session is filled with wildlife activities, archery, orienteering, radio telemetry, hands-on science experiments, games, and crafts. The camp cost is $250 and will run 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Campers are required to bring a pack lunch each day.
