NC: Officials offer reward in shooting death of red wolf

MANTEO, N.C. – The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service is asking for any information regarding the shooting death of a red wolf in Manteo.

According to blueridgenow.com, the federally protected wolf was found with a suspected gunshot wound on Monday in Washington County.

A reward up to $2,500 is being offered to anyone with information that directly leads to an arrest for the suspected unlawful death of this red wolf.

It was reported that a total of nine red wolves have died since Jan. 1.

The red wolf is protected under the Endangered Species Act.
