The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has extended by two weeks a comment period on North Carolina’s red wolf recovery program.
The service is reviewing the program and could modify or end a 27-year effort to restore wolves on the N.C. coast. An initial comment period ended Friday, but the agency said its servers struggled to keep up with the heavy load of emails.
