Conservationists gathered outside the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional headquarters in Albuquerque today to call for more wolves to be released into the wild.
The controversial reintroduction program has struggled in recent weeks as the state Department of Agriculture joined several counties and the Game and Fish Department in withdrawing it’s support.
Meanwhile, the federal government and some organizations and individuals are offering a total of $57,000 as a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person/s responsible for the illegal shooting of a female wolf in March.
