There has been an unusual number wolf observations from Norrköping Municipality recently, especially from the areas around Munktorp.
But it’s hard to say if there is a new territory, or if there are wolves from an existing territory that have come closer. So states Pierre Ahlgren, wolf expert on the County Council.
“We have not drawn any conclusions yet, there may be wolves from another territory that went changed or it refers to a new territory”, he said.
It is truly many wolves have been seen in Norrköping Municipality recently. In a month and a half 72 wolf observations have been noted, particularly around Munktorp.
This compares with a total of 20 wolf observations in Köping throughout last year.
One of those who came into close contact with the wolf is Tanja Linderborg in Munktorp. Just over a week ago, she released her dog, as usual, and got to know both the wolf’s breath and teeth.
“We heard a drawn-out agony scream was terribly uncomfortable, and then something big with big ears and now I understand that it is a wolf”, said Tanja Linderborg. It just came within about 10 meters from us.
“The dog had bite marks in his cheek against the nose and tail, but nothing serious.”
If there is a new territory, it is in the Munktorp area and now Västmanland has six wolf territories.
