Hunters taking part in the culling a wolf in the Södertörn area south of Stockholm have postponed hunts, reports SVT Nyheter. The reason would be activists.
Activists are reported to have stopped cars in the area and asked people what they are doing there. They will also have photographed cars and registration plates, according to the county administrative board in Stockholm.
“Some hunting teams have set hunting to avoid confrontation, but also because of the safety risk so they do not shoot anyone,” says Arne Söderberg at the county administrative board’s conservation unit at SVT.
The wolf has moved into an area in the municipalities of Tyresö and Haninge since last summer. The decision on culled protection hunting is valid until 28 February.
