24 wolves can be shot in the next year’s wolf hunting. This was decided by the counties of Värmland, Örebro, Dalarna and Gavleborg today. Six of these will be shot in Värmland, and a quota of six more as Örebro and Värmland will share.
The hunt should last between 2 January and 15 February.
Last winter there was no hunting, because the decision was appealed and the hunt finally got blown off. This year’s decision must therefore be made, despite the fact that the Supreme Administrative Court still has not ruled on the question whether there will be a 2016 hunt.
According predators manager Maria Falkevik of the provincial government, one of the grounds for the decision are the previous judgments of the Administrative Courts of Appeal in Karlstad and Gothenburg.
