SE: The winter’s wolf hunting appealed

Roughly translated by TWIN Observer

Today winter wolf hunting decisions were appealed to the Administrative Court. It is the union Nordulv at the last minute lodged an appeal tells the magazine Swedish hunting.

The appeal comes regarding hunting decisions in Värmland, Örebro, Dalarna and Gavleborg for a total of 24 wolves starting January 2, 2017. Nordulv demands that the hunt be inhibited and the county administrative boards’ decisions are repealed.

“To assert that licensed hunting takes place under controlled conditions at the time to secure wandering wolves DNA is not sufficient and the stress that the total fauna is exposed to when licensed hunting is underway with permission to drive with dogs is beneath any ethical criticism,” writes Nordulv in its appeal.
