The County Board says okay to a controlled hunt of an injured wolf that appeared north of Brålanda in Vänersborg in early February.
The wolf is said to have its left front leg damaged seriously and therefore there is a risk that that the wolf would damage domestic animals in the area.
“We believe that the wolf should be killed on welfare grounds as soon as possible. The risk is great that there can otherwise be serious damage to livestock”, says Anita Bergstedt-Soderstrom, carnivore manager at the County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland in a statement.
