WARD COUNTY – The Monahans News reports that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed a plan to re-introduce the Southwestern Gray Wolf, an endangered species, into areas of Arizona, New Mexico,Texas and Northern Mexico.
The Ward County Commissioners Court wishes to prevent the re-introduction, make sure that early measures were being taken to avoid this plan.
The greatest fear surrounding this initiative comes from the area’s livestock ranchers, who believe the re-introduction of the wolves would endanger their animals and livelihood.
The release would most likely take place some time after 2014.
