PORTAGE, AK – The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center introduced two male wolves that will join their wolf pack, named Dirus and Lothario. The wolves are hailed from the Zoological Wildlife Conservation Center in Oregon, which donated the wolves to AWCC.
The male wolves will join by two female wolves and be animal ambassadors for their species; educating the public about their wild counter parts.
Dirus is a white wolf and is classified as a Hudson Bay/Gray Wolf with his ancestral roots tracing back to Ontario Canada. He will remain in a white phase his entire life. Lothario is a black phase gray wolf with ancestral roots that tie him back to Alaska.
