Alaska Wildlife Alliance to host talk on wolves and hunters

The Alaska Wildlife Alliance will host a presentation this Friday, March 29, called “Wolves and Hunters: An Examination of the Reasons Why Juneau’s Lone Wolf Was Killed,” led by Dr. Alexander Simon.

Simon is a former associate professor at UAS, and a current associate professor of sociology at Utah Valley University. His article, “A Historical and Case Study Analysis of the Reasons Why Many Trophy Hunters Are Hostile Toward Wolves and Wolf Advocates” was recently published in Capitalism Nature Socialism.

The talk will be at 7 p.m. on Friday in the UAS Egan Library, and is free and open to the public.

The Alaska Wildlife Alliance is a nonprofit organization founded in 1978 that works to promote the conservation and protection of Alaska’s wildlife. The group finished up their “Wildlife Wednesday” spring lecture series earlier this month; look for a new series beginning this fall.
