A pack of eight wolves has been seen regularly roaming near inhabited areas in the canton of St Gallen.
And the Fish and Wildlife Office says people need to “learn to manage” the situation.
People who live in the region of Untervaz say they regularly hear the wolves howling.
Hannes Jenny of the Wildlife Office says the wolves have caused no problems but farmers are already demanding financial compensation for the sheep they say they will lose.
The pack is thought to include six cubs that won’t mature until the summer.
