BABCOCK, Wis. – State wildlife officials are putting on two clinics near Babcock for people who want to learn more about gray wolves.

The Timber Wolf Ecology Clinics on the weekends of Jan. 17-18 and Feb. 14-15 are sponsored by the Sandhill Outdoor Skills Center and the Timber Wolf Information Network.

Area biologists and volunteers will talk about the animals’ status in Wisconsin and the upper Great Lakes region, population size and field study techniques.

The clinics also will include an exploration of wolf habitat and could entail trailing wolves in the snow.

Registration is limited to 25 people and $75 is due by Jan. 9. The fee includes instruction, transportation during Saturday’s events, two meals and use of the dorm at the site.
