While there might not be wolves living natively in Colorado (…or are there?), you’ll be able to see (and sometimes meet) wolves at these locations around the state. Be aware that many of these spots require a reservation. Always call before you plan a visit.
1. Rocky Mountain Wildlife Center
Located in Guffey, Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Center is one of the best places in the state to visit if you’re hoping to meet some wolves. It’s totally free to set up a private tour of their facilities that generally includes interaction (donations encouraged) and its close proximity to Colorado Springs makes it a popular spot for visitors. 2. WolfWood Refuge
If you find yourself in southwest Colorado, WolfWood Refuge is a great spot to see some wolves. They have a preset public tour schedule and you’ll need to reserve your spot ahead of time. Tours are free, but donations are accepted. Find out more about the wolf tours here.
3. Mission : Wolf
Located in Westcliffe, Colorado, Mission: Wolf allows visitors Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. If you’re visiting on Wednesday or Saturday, arrive by 11 AM for a chance to see a feeding session and potentially participate in a “Wolf Behavioral Session.” Find out more here.
4. Colorado Wolf Adventures
Found in Woodland Park, Colorado, Colorado Wolf Adventures offers the chance to take a walk with wolf. Note that Colorado Wolf Adventures only offers “off-site” activities and that all activities require a prior reservation. 5. W.O.L.F. Sanctuary
W.O.L.F. Sanctuary is another spot where you could get up-close and personal with some wolves in Colorado, but there’s a catch. This spot ISN’T open to the general public. If you want to meet these wolves, you’ll need to be a volunteer at the facility, which is near Fort Collins. Find more info about that here.
6. Wild Animal Sanctuary
Lions, tigers, bears…oh my! Oh, and wolves, too. The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado is home to a free-roaming animal habitat that features a wide range of big predators. Learn more about visiting here.
7. Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center
The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center is a spot where you’ll find not just wolves, but foxes and coyotes, too. They offer tours during certain hours on Tuesday through Sunday, with the price for a standard tour set at $20. They also offer meet and greet sessions starting at $120 per person.
