Wildlife Services confirmed that wolves from the Moose Road Pack killed a bear hound in the town of Dairyland on Oct. 7.
The dog was a 1-year-old female Walker hound. Bear hunters should be aware of the potential conflict and exercise caution within the area bounded by Highway 35 to the east; County T along the south; the Minnesota/Wisconsin line on the west; and Moose Road on the north.

To date this year, two dogs have been killed and another injured by wolves in Douglas County. Along with the Oct. 7 incident, a bobcat hound was killed by wolves from the Lake Nebagamon Pack on Jan. 18 in Solon Springs. A pet beagle was injured by wolves from the Moose Road Pack in the town of Dairyland on July 18.
