ID: Wolf history talk slated for Tuesday

A talk on the history and management of wolves in North Idaho is scheduled 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Jim Hayden, regional wildlife manager of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, will present “Navigating the Oceans of Emotions: The Management of Wolves in Northern Idaho,” during a meeting of the Coeur d’Alene Chapter of the National Audubon Society. It will be at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey.

“Here in Idaho’s Panhandle, wolves are a mix of those finding their way naturally to the area, and the progeny of those resulting from the transplant into the central part of the state,” according to a audubon newsletter. “Jim will discuss this history and the gap between function and form in managing this apex predator in populated areas.”
