MN: Managment policies keeping wolves off Endangered Species List

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) — A new report reveals wolf management policies in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan are working well to keep the animal off the Federal Endangered Species List.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service removed wolves from the list in 2012 when they deemed the population had recovered since first being added in 1967.

The new report shows the combined estimated tri-state population grew by about 41 animals from the 2012 -2013 estimate.

International Wolf Center experts report that wolves have slightly expanded their Minnesota range southward and westward into more agricultural areas.
