Floodwood, MN (NNCNOW.com) — The reward for information leading authorities to those responsible for the illegal killings of three gray wolves near Floodwood has been upped by $5,000.
The Humane Society of the United States announced on Friday that they have added to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s $2,500 reward.
The wolves were discovered along Highway 8 last month near Floodwood, Minn.
According to Minnesota Public Radio, evidence suggests the wolves were killed elsewhere and purposely dumped on the side of the road.
In December 2014 a federal judge placed Great Lakes Wolves back on the endangered species list – making it illegal to kill a wolf in Minnesota, except in self-defense.
