Montana Opposes Wolf Lawsuit

Montana’s wildlife managers say wolf recovery is over and now it’s a question of management.
Today, the State Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks waded into the middle of a federal lawsuit that asks the court to reverse plans for wolf management and put the wolf back on the Endangered Species List.
The State says they oppose relisting and they’ll oppose any effort to bring an injuction against the state’s management plan.
The Director of Montana FW & P says Montana’s wolf population is growing and well protected by montana law.
Current estimates put more than 500 wolves in Montana.
