New Wolf Pups at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary

By NBC26 Staff

Green Bay, WI — The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary introduced two new wolf pups on Tuesday. The females are just eight-weeks-old. The sisters arrived last week from a sanctuary in Florida. Staff in Green Bay say they’re very excited about the new additions.

“If you have to work on the cages, they can go into another area. So we want to make sure it is a positive experience for them and for our staff and volunteers and ultimately the public that will come out and get a really good close look at wolves here in Wisconsin,” said Lori Bankson with Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.

The sanctuary is hosting a meet and greet for the public this Saturday. An online “name the wolves” contest starts Wednesday. Sanctuary leaders hope to have names chosen by June.
