OR: New Wolf Management Rules On Agenda When Commission Meets By Phone Friday, July 12

SALEM, Ore.—The Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet by conference call on Friday, July 12 beginning at 10 a.m. An agenda for the meeting can be found online..

The public may listen in on the conference call at four listening stations located at ODFW regional offices around the state. The stations will be located at:

· ODFW HQ, 3406 Cherry Ave NE, Salem

· SW Region Office, 4192 N. Umpqua Hwy, Roseburg

· NE Region Office, 107 20th Street, La Grande,

· High Desert Region Office, 61374 Parrell Road, Bend

The Commission will be asked to adopt new permanent Oregon Administrative Rules to manage wolves in Oregon. The new rules are based on agreements reached between ODFW, Oregon Wild, Cascadia Wildlands and the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association through settlement of a lawsuit. The Commission will also be asked to delegate authority for permitting Commercial Fishery Permit Board members to ODFW Director Roy Elicker.

The seven-member Fish and Wildlife Commission is the policy-making body for fish and wildlife issues in the state. It usually meets monthly. The next meeting is Friday, Aug. 2 in Eugene.
