Philadelphia man pays fine for illegally keeping wolf

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) ý A man paid a fine after Philadelphia animal control officers captured a wolf that he had been keeping illegally.
Mark Morris, of the city’s Northern Liberties section, paid the $500 fine last week and pleaded guilty to unlawful importation and possession of wildlife and failure to protect the public, Pennsylvania Game Commission spokesman Jerry Feaser said Wednesday.
Officers captured the wolf March 27 outside a nightclub at Delaware Avenue and Spring Garden Street. It has since been moved to a central Pennsylvania wildlife refuge that is licensed to care for such animals.
Pennsylvania law requires permits for keeping wolves and other wild animals.
