SE: Majority supports hunting wolves

Roughly translated by TWIN Observer

Generally, Swedish people support predator hunting, according to a new survey. With bears, wolverines and lynx, the Swedes have no problem with having them nearby in their vicinity, but when it comes to wolves, the researchers found an entirely different pattern.

Three out of five Swedes believe that it is acceptable to control the wolf population through hunting, the survey was carried out by researchers at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Umeå University.

But the views are slightly different depending on where you live, according to Camilla Sandstrom, associate professor at Umeå University.

There is a clear difference between country and city.

“Many residents of with predators in their counties think it is perfectly acceptable to wolf hunt,” says Camilla Sandström.
