A hunting dog was attacked by a wolf pair early on Thursday morning in connection with hunting training south of Värmland’s Munkfors.
The dog’s owner tried to scare away the wolves, but when it did not go away, he shot the male wolf.
The female disappeared after that.
“Probably, it was about a territory marking couple” says Maria Falkevik, predator officer at the provincial government in Värmland.
The County Administrative Board, where the complaint in the event is now to be made, has assessed the event as a self-defense situation and that there is no suspicion of a crime. The case was therefore not placed on the police board.
The dog escaped without serious injury, according to SVT Värmlandsnytt.
