SE: New wolf pups in Örebro

Roughly translated by TWIN Observer

WOLF / TT

A new litter of at least three wolf pups have been found in Tiveden territory, at the border between Västergötland and Närke, writes Environmental Protection Agency on its website. The newborn wolves are important for the Scandinavian wolf population because parents are two immigrant wolves.

“The puppies are genetically important and can help reduce inbreeding in the Scandinavian wolf population if they get their puppies,” said Helene Lindahl, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, in a press release.

In 2013 five puppies were born in Tiveden territory. Of these, three have been shot in the wolf cull and one died in traffic.
