The County Administrative Board of Skåne changed its stance and now says yes to the hunting of the wolf that recently attacked several sheep in Skåne.
Last week, after two wolf attacks, the provincial government was advised against hunting since the wolves were found to be genetically valuable. But a third attack on Aug. 10 allows the provincial government to now think that a hunt for the wolf is warranted to prevent further attacks.
The County Administrative Board’s opinion goes to the Environmental Protection Agency, the earliest on Wednesday to decide on any culling. Application to shoot the wolf has come from many including the LRF in Skåne.
The three attacks during the period August 3 to 10, 19 sheep have been killed and three injured in various parts of Southeast Skåne.
