Roughly translated by TWIN Observer

HUDIKSVALL / TT

The district court acquitted one of the two men accused of using a snowmobile to chase, hit and kill a wolf in the neighborhood of Bollnäs. The second man, a 52 year old from Alfta, was sentenced to imprisonment for one year and nine months for hunting offenses.

The dead wolf was found in February 2011 on the lake Fansen’s shore. The wolf had been killed with a broken tree branch by a skier, who according to the district court was the convicted 52-year-old. Before that, the man was skijoring several miles behind a snowmobile. The female wolf had been hunted by snowmobile, driven over and wounded before it finally was beaten to death with a tree branch.

The court can not with certainty determine that it was the accused 42-year-old who drove the scooter, so he is acquitted.

However, it has held that the older man is responsible because of among other things there was an analysis of urine left by him at the scene.
