SE: Record number of wolf attacks in Värmland

Roughly translated by TWIN Observer

KARLSTAD / TT

The number of wolf attacks this year broke all previous records in Värmland.

So far, more than 100 sheep were killed by wolves, and everything points to a doubling of the previous record figure from 2009 of 60 sheep, writes Värmlands Folkblad.

The County Administrative Board’s wildlife officer Kari Langöen has no simple answer to why it increased.

“We have a continual increase in the number of wolves but we want an explanation of why there is so much variation between years,” says Langöen to VF.
