Police in Värmland have launched a investigation of a serious hunting crime after they encountered a wolf shot west of Branäs.
The wolf was found shot after an elk hunt in late november. Wolf estimated been shot around All Saints’ weekend. Police suspect that the wolf was poached.
“When the wolf was found the assumption was that there could be no question of a hunting violation”, said police press officer Tommy Lindh
In the same area it was found also shot two elk that was suspected shot at about the same time as the wolf. Police do not see any connection between the shot wolf and the shot moose more than they were found in the same area.
Police are interested in information from the public that may help the crimes to be solved.
