Six sheep were killed by a wolf on a farm outside Hjorted southwest of Västervik on Sunday night and another seven sheep were destroyed because of the injuries they received. The landowner discovered the dead and injured sheep on Monday.
“We received reports of a wolf in the southern part of the county a fortnight ago and it is very likely that it is the same wolf,” says Robert Briland, surveyor for the county Board of Kalmar.
The County Administrative Board urges the sheep owners to increase supervision and review their fences.
