EPA has begun to prepare for the move, even though the wolves have not caused any serious damage to reindeer herding.
Helene Lindahl, project manager for the work on genetic gain from the Environmental Protection Agency said in a statement that the agency has chosen to try to move the wolves because there is an increased risk of conflict with reindeer when it’s time for reindeer calving.
It is hoped that the wolf pair should have a litter of pups with valuable genes for the Swedish wolf population.
