A wolf was shot at noon on Sunday in Haverö territory on the border between Jämtland and Gävleborg. It was a male of 44 kg which was shot by a group of about 80 hunters, the newspaper Jakt & Jägare’s online edition.
The county administrative boards in both counties had approved the hunting of a wolf then a wolf pair had attacked and killed three dogs in the area – a beagle and two Swedish hunting hounds(jämthundar).
The wolf was brought to the National Veterinary Institute for necropsy.
