The wolf that Dalarna County Administrative Board had decided to cull at the beginning of April was killed on Sunday.
The wolf, a male who resided in a reindeer herding area year round, was shot from a helicopter at Långfjället in northern Dalarna.
The Hunting decision had been extended twice when conditions for tracking the wolf was difficult.
“We got reports that it had gone up to the mountains. The reindeer are calving now so then we put in an effort to find the wolf with the helicopter”, said environmental director Stig-Åke Svenson of the county government.
