Six sheep have been killed by at least one wolf in Herrestads area. CAB trapper Jimmy Carlsson has confirmed it all and says it may be a wolf establishing a territory after wandering into the Herrestad area.
“Signs that can be seen in the snow suggest it, but if it means a territorial establishment, we have not found it yet,” says Jimmy Carlsson.
The County Administrative Board now advises pet owners in the county to protect their animals extra carefully in the near future.
Among other things, it should be ensured that there is an electrified fence around the pasture. The lowest wire is important, it should not be possible to crawl under. And also make sure that it’s closed down towards the water.
“Otherwise, when there is ice, the wolf can just walk right into the pasture,” says Jimmy Carlsson.
