Roughly translated by TWIN Observer

STOCKHOLM / TT

A majority of Swedes are opposed to hunting wolves, according to a survey carried out by polling institute YouGov on behalf of the Society for Nature Conservation.

Total sample size was 1009 people from all over the country. To the question “The Swedish wolf population today consists of 260-330 individuals according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Do you think that the wolf population should be reduced by hunting?” 59 percent replied no and 21 percent yes. Even in wolf counties that responded, a majority, 56 percent, said no.
