Swiss like wolves
A new survey by the environmental organisation, World Wide Fund for Nature,
says three out of four people support the presence of wolves in Switzerland.
The group said acceptance among people in rural areas was only marginally lower
that in urban areas.
The survey comes as parliament is due to debate a proposal to take wolves off a
list of protected animals.
Sheep farmers argue that the predators threaten their livelihood.
Over the past few years, eight wolves, which crossed the border from
neighbouring Italy, have been sighted in Switzerland.
