Tips For Wolf Identification

Wolf populations are increasing in the lower 48 states. This increase is
the result of positive public attitude, legal protection, government
restoration programs, and wolves’ high capacity to increase in number and
expand their range. Coyote populations are increasing, as well, due to
their high capacity to increase in number and their ability to live close
to human habitation. As wolves and coyotes expand their range and
individual animals travel to new areas, more people may have a need to
distinguish between the two species. If you find yourself asking, “Was
that a wolf?” this guide to identifying wolves and coyotes will be
beneficial.

Tips For Avoiding Conflicts

As the wolf populations increase, there is an
increased possibility of wolf human contact. Living with Wolves: Tips for
Avoiding Conflicts contains a series of guidelines that can be followed to
decrease the chance of wolf habituation and conflict. It also includes
phone numbers of government agencies for reporting fearless of aggressive
wolves. This informational sheet will be beneficial to anyone living or
visiting wolf country.
