UK: Wolf pack arrives at the wildlife park enclosure

VISITORS to Wingham Wildlife Park are expected to howl with delight following the arrival of its first pack of wolves.

The park’s owners have been busy building an enclosure for the past six months for the animals, which they had hoped to introduce before Christmas.

But the project suffered a setback after a fraudulent eBay listing for a digger to build the enclosure cost park owner Tony Binskin £3,000.

News of the scam prompted an outpouring of support from the park’s visitors, who set up an online fundraising page and generated more than £100 in donations.

Mr Binskin said: “The digger was a huge disappointment for us, because it really delayed the wolves coming to the park and caused us a lot of heartache.

“But the wolves are here now and the enclosure is complete.

“It was always important that this incident didn’t affect our plans to the point that things wouldn’t happen.”

Wingham’s newest additions include two eight-year-old brothers and another two-year-old wolf, all from Parc Zoologique du Bouy in Ambert, France.

Two three-year-old female wolves were also selected from Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix in Rhodes, near the French border with Germany.
