One or more wolves killed a calf last week in northeastern Washington, according to state wildlife officials.

The calf was killed by one or more members of the Profanity Peak pack, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife wolf policy lead Donny Martorello said in an email to state wolf advisory group members.

Department staffers are communicating with the rancher on measures to help prevent further losses or find other losses that occur.

The calf carcass was removed from the area, Martorello said.
