Wildlife Services have confirmed the recent killing of two Plott bear hounds by wolves in Oneida County. A 6-year old bear hound was attacked Oct. 4 in the town of Minocqua. Another 6-year old Plott bear hound was attacked and killed Oct. 5 in the town of Little Rice. More information and a caution area map are available on the gray wolf webpage.
Hunters are reminded to use the caution area maps on the DNR website (dnr.wi.gov, keyword “wolf management”) to help reduce conflicts during this year’s bear dog training and hunting season.
