MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) — Starting Monday at 6:30 p.m., only two zones will remain open for wolf hunters in the state of Wisconsin.
The DNR said wolf harvest zone 5 will close Monday evening. With this closure, a total of four zones will have closed this season. Zones 3 and 6 are still open.
The wolf season began on Wednesday with a statewide kill limit of 150 animals.
As of Sunday night, the DNR’s website shows that hunters killed 81 animals across all zones, leaving 69 animals to go.

Wildlife officials are closing two more wolf hunting zones in northern Wisconsin.
The Department of Natural Resources says Zones 1 and 4 will be closed to further hunting and trapping of wolves effective 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The DNR closed Zone 2 last week. Three of the state’s six zones remain open.
The wolf season began Wednesday. The DNR has set a statewide kill limit of 150 animals. The agency’s website shows that hunters had killed 65 animals across all zones as of midday Sunday, leaving 85 animals to go.
