Wolf Awareness Week, October 19-25, is a time to recognize the role Wolves
play in the natural environment of the Northwoods region. To Commemorate
the week, Timber Wolf Alliance of the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute
at Northland College, has created over 70,000 Upper Great Lakes Regional
Wolf Awareness Week Posters and National Wolf Awareness Week Posters.

The artwork highlighted on the National Wolf Awareness Week poster was
created by Jim Turgeon, an award-winning illustrator from Florida. Jim is
no stranger to Wolf Awareness Week, as his artwork also graced the 2001
National Wolf Awareness Week poster. The Upper Great Lakes Regional poster
features the artwork of Wisconsin based artist Jerry Krejcha whose work
has been highlighted on projects of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation
projects.

Both poster images are complemented by current wolf population and
behavioral information from around the region and country, making the
poster an educational and artistic contribution to classrooms, libraries
and public gathering places. The posters are made possible through the
financial support or state and federal agencies and non-profit
environmental organizations. These sponsors and Timber Wolf Alliance are
distributing the posters around the country.

Free posters are available while supplies last. If you would like to
receive a poster please contact Timber Wolf Alliance for more details.
