Wolf forum

Wolf forum

Western Wyomingites feeling the impacts of a biologically recovered wolf
population are encouraged to attend the Sublette Wolf Forum on Saturday,
Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sublette County Library in Pinedale.
The forum, which is free to the public, is sponsored by the Sublette
County Farm Bureau and the Green River Valley Cattlemen’s Association.

The morning session will include updates from Jack Oyler of the Central
Idaho Anti-Wolf Coalition, Bob Fanning of the Friends of the Northern
Yellowstone Elk Herd and Maury Jones of the Wyoming Outfitters and Guides
Association.

There will be a panel discussion focusing on what happened in enacting
Wyoming’s wolf legislation and wolf plan, with panelists ranging from
wildlife commissioners and county commissioners, to legislators and
lobbyists.

State and federal officials will discuss the scientific review of the
Wyoming wolf plan, and the Sublette County Sheriff’s Department will tell
participants why local law-enforcement should be called in when you have a
wolf problem.

Other topics to be covered include local impacts, the governor’s view,
impacts to livestock grazing on public lands and why a federal lawsuit
filed in Oregon has significance for Sublette County.
