Wolves Encroaching on Southern Idaho Neighborhoods

Fish and Game officials say that before year’s end, wolves could encroach
into southern Idaho neighborhoods. They warn that since the wolves are on
the move, the state needs to enact its wolf management plan.
But since the federal government lumped Montana, Wyoming and Idaho
together in a wolf recovery zone, all three must have acceptable plans
before the animal is removed from federal protection. Idaho’s and
Montana’s plan have been approved; Wyoming’s has not.
Fish and Game says Idaho has a backup plan to help the state in the
meantime, which clearly defines livestock to include goats, llamas and
more.
The plan also would allow people to protect their private property from
wolf intrusion.
