Wolves Kill Calves
The DNR says wolves killed two calves in Trempealeau County last month
According to Ed Culhand with the DNR, one death happened on May 23 near Osseo, the other happened on May 24 near Ettrick and Galesville. He believes the attacks are unrelated
Culhand says the owners of the calves have been issued shooting permits to kill the wolves because wildlife services is unavailable to come out and trap them.
He says he’s not aware of any wolf packs. Wolves are not common in that area.
